I have one last thing I want to say. I found an old movie ticket right before that, which probably didn’t help. I had been thinking about something completely unrelated, then suddenly there you were in my head. We had good moments too, and I’m finally okay admitting that without wanting the relationship back. It was weirdly familiar for a second.

I want another chance with you. This is probably random. I saw pizza and immediately connected it to one of our stupid old routines. I found an old sunglasses right before that, which probably didn’t help. If we ever try again, I want it slower, more honest, and actually different. I just wanted to say it once.

I want you to come over, which is probably a terrible idea. I’m keeping this simple. I saw burgers and immediately connected it to one of our stupid old routines. The thought lasted maybe a minute, but it stuck with me longer than I expected. If this sounds emotionally dangerous, ignore me. I’m aware it probably is. That’s really all.

I am lonely tonight, and my brain went straight to you. It was such a small thing that I felt ridiculous for noticing it. I know loneliness can make old relationships look softer than they actually were. I’m not asking you to fix the feeling. I just wanted to admit it. You don’t have to answer.

I can’t keep doing this halfway version of us. The little check-ins are keeping me emotionally parked in a place I’m trying to leave. Every “hey stranger” turns into a week of me overthinking things I thought I had settled. Maybe we can talk someday without reopening everything. I’m not there yet. That caught me off guard more than I expected.

Happy holidays. Google Photos showed me something that pulled the memory forward before I was ready. I almost sent our old holiday joke out of habit, then decided a normal message was safer. I hope today feels warm, easy, and drama-free for you. Anyway, I hope you’re okay. It was such a small thing, but it stuck.

I disappeared, and that was unfair to you. I’m keeping this simple. The thought lasted maybe a minute, but it stuck with me longer than I expected. I didn’t expect my reaction to be that immediate. I’m not asking you to let me back into your life. I just wanted to say I’m sorry. You don’t have to answer this.

I heard you’re serious with someone now. I didn’t expect to say that today. I found an old jacket right before that, which probably didn’t help. I had been thinking about something completely unrelated, then suddenly there you were in my head. I hope they’re kind to you and that the relationship feels steady. I didn’t think that would still get to me.

I handled the breakup badly. I can see now that my silence forced you to carry questions that belonged to me. I didn’t give you the respect of being direct when it mattered most. I finally understand why the way I left hurt so much. I just wanted to say it once and leave it there.

I know we agreed on no contact. It was such a small thing that I felt ridiculous for noticing it. The thought lasted maybe a minute, but it stuck with me longer than I expected. I’m not asking to restart anything. I just noticed the habit is still there. No pressure to respond. That probably sounds more dramatic than it felt.
